Taiwan Xiaofang Kiln Ru Kiln
Ru Kiln has a history of more than twelve hundred years.
Mr. Cai Xiaofang, the master of Xiao Fang Kiln, is now 70 years old and has been making imitation ancient ceramics for more than 30 years. There are more than 10,000 varieties, including various famous kiln ceramics in all Chinese dynasties. Xiao Fang Kiln has also made imitations of them. Xiao Fang Kiln is famous for its imitation of ancient porcelain, and its quality has yet to be surpassed in Taiwan.
However, Xiaofang Kiln does not simply pursue chaos and truth, but strives to surpass the beauty of ancient porcelain art. Some industry insiders in Taiwan even believe that Xiaofang Kiln’s imitation works are often more perfect than genuine ancient porcelains, because modern firing technology and conditions have long surpassed the ancients.
The most distinctive of all the imitation ancient porcelain wares from Xiaofang Kiln should be the imitation Song Ru ware. This famous porcelain, which briefly appeared in history, fully embodies the special aesthetic view of the Northern Song royal family and pursues the mysterious color of “after the rain, sky is blue and clouds are broken”. The warm and jade-like glaze is speckled with irregular stripes or ice cracks, presenting a wonderful artistic effect, pleasing to the eyes and lovable. In fact, Xiaofang Kiln’s imitations of blue-and-white porcelains from Yuan-Ming-Qing Dynasties and pink porcelains from Qing Dynasty are also very distinctive works of high quality, but due to the gradual disappearance of old painters and lack of successors, these fine porcelains requiring painters are gradually decreasing.
Second, Taiwan Bairu Kiln
Taiwan Bairu Kiln is located in Danshui Town, Taipei County. It is one of the oldest and most influential kilns in Taiwan. The kiln has been in operation since the late 19th century and has been producing high-quality ceramics ever since. Its products are well-known for their delicateness and elegance. The kiln is also renowned for its traditional Chinese painting techniques, including blue-and-white porcelain, eggshell white porcelain and colored glaze porcelain.
Mr. Ke Bo-Hui, a Taiwanese youth pottery artist, founded Bo-Cai-Ru Kiln in Jingdezhen, the thousand-year capital of porcelain in 2009. Having a love for art since young, Ho Bo-Hui graduated from the Art Department of Donghai University in Taiwan in 1993. Being infatuated with ceramic art, he engaged in creative ceramic works for more than ten years after graduation. With his persistent hard work and profound understanding of ceramics and inherent perception as well as deep artistic foundation and good cultural accomplishment, he not only excels in product development design but also achieves remarkable success in clay mixing, mastering glaze properties and ceramic firing. He can be regarded as a self-taught ceramic genius who learns everything by himself.
Despite being a young brand, BaiCai, founded in just one year through the accumulation of more than ten years in Taiwan by Feng, has amazed the porcelain industry with its exquisite craftsmanship, novel design and first-class quality. Especially the BaiCai Ru Porcelain Tea Set Series has already enjoyed good reputation in the industry. Each piece lets you linger your love, feeling life’s moments between enjoying tea and appreciating porcelain….
Third, Taiwan Henglian and Ruyao
Taiwan Henglian and Ruyao are both traditional kilns in Chinese pottery. Taiwan Henglian was the first to establish a kiln for producing the blue-and-white porcelain of Ruyao. The two kilns have different approaches to pottery production, yet their blue-and-white porcelains have a high value in international markets.
Henglian Tea Ware is the general name for the Song Ru-style tea ware produced in Henglian, Taiwan. Nowadays mainland factories also produce it, but their workmanship is poor and most of them are not directly imitating Song Ru ware but imitating Henglian tea ware. According to relevant documents about Ru Ware, there are nine colors of glaze: sky blue, pinkish blue, green onion, sky blue, egg blue, shrimp blue, bean green, moon white and tea powder. Among all kinds of glazes, it is said that “Sky Blue is expensive, Pinkish Blue is noble and Green Onion and Sky Blue are precious”.
There is a distinction between old and new Henglian teaware, and the purpose of collecting it is mostly for appreciation (appreciation, color appreciation, and workmanship). Many people are waiting for the price to appreciate before selling it. Nowadays, the quality and prices of Henglian teaware are very varied. If you are not deeply familiar with it, don’t buy it rashly!
Four, Hengfu East Road Ruyao
Hengfu East Road Ruyao is the fourth (4) location.
Dongdao Ruyao is a tea company from Guangdong, launched after Xiao Fang, Henglian, Xu De and Bo Cai brands in Taiwan. Its main products rely on OEM sticker production for imitating Ruyao teaware. The imitation of Dongdao Ruyao is much worse than many studio works, with rigid shapes, thin glaze and formless spirit.
Fifth, Ju Bao Long Ru Kiln
Ru Kiln is a famous kiln in ancient China. It was founded in the Northern Song Dynasty, and its production of porcelain has been highly praised by people. Ju Bao Long Ru Kiln is a late-line kiln of the Ru Kiln. Its works are mainly composed of famille-rose colored glaze porcelain, which have simple design and elegant style. The porcelain products made by Ju Bao Long Ru Kiln are characterized by their bright colors and exquisite craftsmanship, showing off the unique charm of ancient Chinese culture.
