Alias of licorice: Country Man, Sweet Grass, Ural licorice and Sweet Root licorice. The licorice belong to perennial herbs, roots and rhizomes are strong. The medicinal parts are roots and rhizomes. The characteristic roots of medicinal materials are cylindrical, 25-100 cm long and 0.6-3.5 cm in diameter. The epidermis varies in elasticity and has a reddish-brown or gray-brown surface. The rhizome is cylindrical with bud marks on the surface and pith in the middle of the section. The smell is light, the taste is sweet and special. The main functions are clearing away heat and detoxification, eliminating phlegm and relieving cough, abdomen and so on. It is fond of the environment of dark and humid, long sunshine and low temperature dry climate. Licorice mostly grows in arid and semi-arid desert steppe, desert margin and Loess Hilly area. Roots and rhizomes are used medicinally.
Usage: After brewing with 200 ml boiling water, drink until tasteless.
