Jianzhan is a traditional famous porcelain of Han nationality. It was produced in Jianyao. Jianyao is one of the famous ancient kilns in China. Its products were well-known in the Song Dynasty. It was an ideal utensil for tea ordering and tea fighting at that time. It does not lose the gorgeous color, nor the color carving and painting. The glaze texture is naturally formed, and is known as “the Pearl of porcelain altar” in many ancient books.
The glaze is covered with silver gray metallic luster dots, which are similar to oil drops. The oil drop speckles are naturally formed by roasting at a high temperature above 1000 degrees in the kiln. Crystal glaze is easy to change and difficult to control in the high temperature of the kiln. So it is very difficult to produce a piece of glaze without defects and bright stripes, so the low yield is inevitable.
