product description

Processing Notes for Silver Needle White Tea

This tea is made from ancient-tree material sourced in Lincang Mengku East Banshan. The first sip brings a light trace of bitterness and a restrained touch of astringency, then the cup settles into a clear, lingering sweetness that feels brisk and clean. Its character is uplifting and easy on the palate, so it is well suited to repeated infusions and unhurried tasting sessions. To appreciate the finer layers, try a gentle brew in a gaiwan or a small porcelain cup, where the aroma can stay bright and the finish remains vivid. This style also makes a thoughtful gift for tea drinkers who enjoy neat, refreshing flavors rather than heavy, forceful cups.

Infused Leaves

Once opened, the spent leaves present a vivid yellow-green tone with a glossy, full-bodied look. The leaves feel soft yet springy, and the reddish stems are clearly visible. As they unfurl, they stretch out naturally instead of appearing broken or dull, which gives a good visual cue of the leaf quality. The opened leaf set is also helpful for judging the tea’s extraction: when the leaves expand evenly, it usually means the liquor has been drawn out smoothly. For collectors and everyday drinkers alike, this kind of leaf appearance adds confidence in both workmanship and raw material selection.

great tea! I've been drinking pu erh for a while, and for the price this is definitely an excellent deal. Earthy, strong, with a rather mellow yet energizing quality. I know, I know... I'm a tea snob. Have gotten some other "aged Yunan tea" on Amazon recently and it was so bad I couldn't drink it. So I was really stoked to find some good quality stuff!

Just finished the tea I ordered back in October--i've really enjoyed relaxing with my own pu ehr after our Chinese neighbor/friend introduced us to it. 'Rinse' it, as recommended, and a small amount goes a long way. I've already emailed the company and they are going to provide me with a sample of the 'raw' variety, but I will likely make another purchase of this 'ripe' one again. It's become a nightly ritual!

Very mellow tea and it tastes really good. It's fresh tasting for what I know about it. The cake is tight, but crumbles willingly, so making a bit of tea was easy. Very nice.
