product description
Rising from 656 to 2023 meters above sea level, Mount Yiwu is shaped by a mountain climate that stays warm and humid, with frequent fog, fertile ground, alternating sunshine and rain, precious heat accumulation, and generous rainfall. In this tropical to subtropical monsoon rainforest setting, the tea land has been naturally weathered from purple rock and sandstone parent material. The humus layer in the tea district is chiefly composed of brick soil, lateritic red soil, and yellow soil, and its depth exceeds 5 centimeters. Tree roots are able to extend at least 3 meters below the surface, giving them access to a richer supply of nutrients and absorbed matter.
For brewing, a porcelain gaiwan can highlight the fragrance with clarity, while a small clay vessel can help soften the mouthfeel and round out the sweetness; both approaches work well for short, repeated infusions. This style of Yiwu tea is especially attractive to drinkers who appreciate elegant mountain character, balanced structure, and a liquor that remains composed from the first cup to the last. It also makes a refined gift or collection choice for anyone who values traditional puerh craftsmanship and hand-finished presentation.
Hand-pressed with a stone grinder, the cake forms a round, well-filled body with moderate compression. The strips remain bright and clearly defined, while the original leaf shape is well preserved, giving the cake a firm, weighty appearance.
The surface is generously dusted with fine velvet-like hairs and silvery sheen, creating a thick, luminous finish that looks rich and well-made.
The brewed liquor glows with a bright sheen and a rounded, full-bodied texture. Yiwu fragrance seems to blend softly into the water, so the sip feels compact and delicate at first, then moves through the throat with a smooth but resilient character that lingers.
Sweet floral notes lead the flavor, while the liquor stays gentle, refined, and quietly forceful, carrying tea energy that is noticeable without feeling aggressive. After swallowing, a sweet aftertaste continues to circle the tongue for a long time, and the lips and teeth remain pleasantly fragrant.
The spent leaves appear fresh, full, plump, and thick, with a naturally complete and lively shape. Their veins stay clear and bright, and the leaf body remains well-structured after brewing, which also suggests good endurance across multiple infusions.
